Deadline to seek UCLA endorsement letter: August 23
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program will annually identify a group of 100 high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment to receive full funding to pursue a wide-ranging graduate education at Stanford, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars is the largest fully endowed scholars program in the world.
Eligibility and application requirements
It is for graduate study in any field (including the JD, MA, MBA, MFA, MS, and PhD degrees) at Stanford.
Applicants must apply separately to Stanford. (Check deadlines carefully for all programs, as they vary! For most grad programs, applying to Knight-Hennessy Scholars moves your deadline up to mid-November. For MD applicants, you will need to complete your secondary application quickly. For MBA applicants, you must apply during Round 1.)
- Two essays
- Short answers
- Transcripts and test scores
- Recommendation letters (two- plus an institutional endorsement letter if you seek it)
- In-person assessment for finalists (by invitation only)

- Drafts of your essays
- Unofficial transcripts
- Annotated resume
- Letter of recommendation
