In 1996, our founder and director noticed a need to bridge the gap between students who are eligible for financial aid assistance and those who are not. The Center for Scholarships & Scholar Enrichment was established to be that bridge for all students: international, out-of-state, majoring in anything. Through demystifying the scholarship process, we aim to decrease debt and mentor students into scholars who can find, apply to, and earn funding.
Our impact over the past thirty years has been fantastic, and humbling. We connect students with $2.5 million in UCLA donor scholarships yearly, and provide official UCLA endorsements for prestigious national and international scholarships. We also mentor students as they search and apply for non-UCLA affiliated scholarships; our students have reported over $700,000 in winnings last year alone!
These winnings include incredibly competitive scholarships like the Marshall, Rhodes, Schwarzman, Strauss, Truman, Goldwater, and more, thanks to our dedicated prestigious scholarship nominations and advising.
With joy and gratitude for all we’ve already accomplished, we are seeking to build an endowment so that we can continue to serve students and build for the future.
We will:
- Increase student literacy in scholarship searching and applications
- Offer increased work study and support for graduate and undergraduate students
- Maintain a committed and skilled staff
- Fully fund travel expenses for students who are named as finalists for nationally/internationally competitive scholarships
- Provide scholarships to fund Phi Beta Kappa memberships for high need students
- Continue to serve all students who need our help for free
